Enterprise NCC-1701-D under Captain Jean-Luc Picard, assigned to chief of security. On approximately stardate 41235, while on a mission to retreive a vaccine from planet Ligon II, Yar was kidnapped by a local leader, Lutan. To continue negotiations to acquire the vaccine, Yar was obliged to participate in ritual combat with LigonΓÇÖs wife, Yareena. Though Yar officially ΓÇ£killedΓÇ¥ Yareena with a poison-spiked glove, an antidote was found, Yareena was revived, and the vaccine was successfully acquired.
Around stardate 41636, Yar and shipΓÇÖs counselor Deanna Troi went on an away mission with First Officer Commander Riker to the matriarchal planet Angel One to seek the possible survivors of the freighter Odin, which crashed seven years before. The male survivors were found living in Angel One society, working for social change. Though local authorities requested their removal under the Prime Directive, it was found that the men were sufficiently integrated into the social system that they no longer were subject to Prime Directive constraints. On stardate 41798.2, Yar participated in an away team with Commander Riker and Lieutenant Commander Data to the now-uninhabited planet Minos. They were attacked by long-dormant automated weapons that had destroyed the population, but successfully escaped when the weapons were deactivated at their core.On stardate 41601, Yar led an away mission to attempt to rescue Deanna Troi, crashed in a shuttle on planet Vagra II, from a malevolent entity holding her hostage.
